Elizabeth McCracken’s short story collection, Thunderstruck, was recently awarded the 2014 Story Prize. The Story Prize is awarded yearly to the author of a collection of short fiction, along with two runners-up every year. Elizabeth is no stranger to critical acclaim for her work, as her previous works have been marked as New York Times Book Review Notable Books and ALA Notable books.
Thunderstruck collects nine stories ranging from the story of a filmmaker catching up with the first subject he covered to a family running away from Paris and the effect it has on their lives. These stories have been published in multiple locations, but have been collected in audiobook format and available to borrow on hoopla.
Previous Story Prize winners include Tobias Wolff, whose winning collection, Our Story Begins, is also available instantly on hoopla. We’re proud to have such award winning works from notable authors joining our over 200,000 titles available on hoopla. Congratulations to Elizabeth from hoopla digital!
